[Theatre Announcements] My apologies for unwarranted list activity

Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

Last Friday evening, I moved my old list from one server to another
(actually HiWaay did it without consulting me!), and as the names were added
to the new list, the default action was to send everyone a message, which
resulted in everyone getting this nice announcement about essentially
nothing. When any did a Reply (I think), EVERYONE got that message, too,
since the new list had not been properly configured  to disallow that kind
of rampant distribution. I imagine people may have then suspected that they
were going to start getting a plethora of messages, and you may be spooked.

 

After a few trips to Mail List Support (L), I have subsequently turned off
the "anyone can post to my list" flag, so that won't happen again: in the
future, only my announcements for theatre events will be listed. I apologize
for any confusion or upset this hiccup has caused. 

 

On the plus side, I am actually establishing separate lists so that Theatre
announcements and Bimini Road gigs will be announced separately. Currently,
they share the single list, and I know some people (in both camps!) would
likely not be bothered by one or the other. That will happen soon, and I
will try and take care steps to avoid the same snafu.

 

Again, sorry for the confusion. I THINK it's all fixed now.
