[Mad Men Only Theatre] Tabernacle: Tonight and Saturday!

The Holy Rock of Ages Camp Meeting Association is in trouble: the money's short and the old folks are dying off. What's a group of Elders to do? Why, hire a fancy televangelist to energize the flock and bring in some youth to brighten up the place. Only problem is, the evangelist just got out of jail, and the youth are all inner city gang members. This culture clash leads to a great deal of fun, dance, and song. And in the end, it leads everyone back to their roots.
 
 
Tabernacle, with music, lyrics and book by Chuck Puckett (and additional music and lyrics by Carol Puckett) is directed by Carol Puckett, and will be staged at the Hartselle Camp Meeting, in the very tabernacle that inspired the play. The play opens tonight, Friday, July, 25 and continues tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, 2008. Dinner is served at 7:00 (a delicious Hartselle Camp Meeting supper), and the play will begin about sundown. Proceeds from the production will benefit the Hartselle Camp Meeting Association, and will be used to help pay for the recently completed Puckett Youth Dormitory.
